Friendship Place Walks to End Homelessness

Washington, DC – On November 2, 2014, Friendship Place will be hosting its first annual Friendship Walks:  A Walk to End Homelessness at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.  Friendship Place is a leader in Washington, DC, in developing solutions to homelessness that have demonstrable results and a lasting impact.  More than 800 people will sleep tonight in warm beds in their own homes thanks to the work this non-profit organization has done in the past year alone.

Friendship Walks is a way to engage the public about homelessness and raise money to support Friendship Place’s award winning efforts.  The walk will start at 10:30am and last until 12pm.  The requested donation for adults 24 & older is $30, youths 7-23 is $10, and children 6 & under are free.  The one mile, non-competitive walk will take place on the National Mall between 12th and 14th Streets.

Friendship Place is grateful to have several amazing sponsors for their walk including Clark Construction, AT&T, Lockheed Martin, and TTR Sotheby’s International Realty.  In addition to the walk, guests can meet with members of the Retired NFL Players Association of Washington, D.C., enjoy performances by the Rythmaya Dance Company, family friendly games like t-shirt decorating and much more.  Radio personality, EZStreet from 93.9 WKYS will be the musical host for this event.
