  • Mariam Nek,

Director of AimHire AimHire Employment Program 202.248.0496

Mariam graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2011. While at Stanford, she studied counseling, poverty, and social policy, and with a group of students developed a student-run initiative that would provide the homeless population in Palo Alto job skills training and marketing skills through newspaper sales. Mariam joined AimHire in 2012 and served as Employment Specialist and Program Supervisor before assuming leadership of the program in March 2017. She was excited to use her previous experience in Palo Alto and her passion for working with disadvantaged populations to support the AimHire team.

Mariam is a member and former board member of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, where she hosted professional development training for new professionals in the nonprofit sector and helped develop their five-year strategic plan. She spends time on weekends volunteering for people experiencing homelessness with her local faith community, MakeSpace.
