Give Stock

Donating stock is not only easy, but can also provide you with substantial tax benefits. To transfer stock to Friendship Place, here’s the information your broker will need:

Once you put in the request to your broker, please alert Chris Rutledge, Chief Development Officer, at 202.957-7834. The notification that we receive from our Fidelity account does not tell us who made the donation, so we rely on the donor to let us know.

Ask your broker to give you the value of the stock in writing at the time of the transfer. In accordance with IRS regulations, our “thank you” letter to you will acknowledge the number of shares and the date on which you transferred them.

Give by Pledging

Become a “Champion for Change” by making a 5-year pledge of $1,000 or more a year to the mission of Friendship Place.

• Give the Gift of Healing  ($1,000 per year for 5 years) – The healing process begins when we first connect with people through street outreach, hospitality, and our free health clinic.
• Give the Gift of Rebuilding ($5,000 per year for 5 years) – Our case managers help each participant rebuild their lives by creating a customized plan to achieve their goals.
• Give the Gift of Flourishing ($10,000 per year for 5 years) – Make a far-reaching impact on homelessness by supporting our effort to expand our employment and housing programs. Your contribution will be helping even more people find employment and housing, and reconnect with friends and family. The help we can give, with your support, will continue to serve our participants for the rest of their lives.
