Friendship Place is a leader in the Washington D.C. Metro region in the national campaign to end homelessness among veterans. Friendship Place is a recipient of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Veterans First is a Rapid Rehousing program working with veteran households in the Washington D.C. Metro area utilizing innovative, person centered practice to create a lasting impact toward ending and preventing veteran homelessness.
We believe in a person-centered, individualized method of building and supporting self-respect, confidence, and dignity of each veteran and veteran family we serve.
The Veterans First program at Friendship Place is a leading provider of housing stability to veterans and their families in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The Veterans First program is supported under the Department of Veterans Affairs Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF) Grant. The program focuses upon achieving housing stability within 90-days through case management services.

The Veterans First program serves Washington D.C. and the counties of Fairfax (VA), Loudoun (VA), Prince William (VA), Arlington (VA), Prince George (MD), Montgomery (MD) and Frederick (MD) as well as the City of Alexandria (VA).
To participate in our program, Veterans must:
*National Guard and Reservists who were activated by Presidential Order to serve in another State or Country (beyond their initial training) and received a DD-214 with an other than dishonorable discharge are also eligible for this program
