Community
Our look has changed… but we haven’t.
For 22 years Friendship Place has offered innovative programming and permanent, practical solutions to homelessness. Staying up to date with best practices is a source of pride for us in an ever-evolving field, and is a value that we apply to all aspects of our organization. That’s why we’re proud to launch our refreshed name and look.
Our brand enhancement is more than just a logo makeover — it is a reflection of our organization’s renewed commitment to making a lasting impact on homelessness, on our community, and on our local and national decision makers.
We love that our new mark, designed pro bono by the talented team at Beveridge Seay, conveys both the dynamism and warmth of Friendship Place, and that it can encompass all the new arenas we’re expanding into, beyond just housing and shelter. The mark holds a certain symbolism for us because it isn’t perfectly round. We don’t take a “cookie cutter” approach with our participants. Each person is welcomed as an individual, with unique qualities and needs.
The second exciting change we’d like to notify you about is our name change. Our official name is now, simply, “Friendship Place.” We think it’s the perfect reflection of how our community comes together — businesses, congregations, board members, volunteers, program participants, staff and the wider community— to end homelessness and rebuild lives.
For years, we have been known by many variations of our name: CCH, CCH/FP, The Council, Community Council for the Homeless at Friendship Place, and Friendship Place. It’s made it confusing and difficult to establish a consistent presence, so the decision to simplify our name was easy. Besides, “Friendship Place” is what our program participants have been calling us for years, and it was time to make it official.
You, our community members, were the biggest inspiration behind this redesign. We thank you for all the ways that you’ve helped Friendship Place to evolve and flourish.
