Mayor Bowser at the One-Year Anniversary of the Brooks

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser joined Friendship Place during the one-year anniversary celebration of the Brooks Short-Term facility for families experiencing homelessness. Speakers during the event also included the Brooks family, Ward 3 Councilmember Mary Cheh, DHS Director Laura Zeilinger, Friendship Place President & CEO Jean-Michel Giraud, and former Brooks resident, Ms. Smith. Mayor Bowser concluded the event with a ribbon-cutting that had been scheduled the prior year but postponed due to the COVID pandemic.
