Meet Tionne Smith

Tionne Smith came to the Brooks after facing homelessness several times over the past few years. Pregnant with her second child, she and her young daughter had no place to go. Eventually they learned about The Brooks, Friendship Place’s Short-Term Family Housing Facility. “I was thankful and overjoyed,” says Tionne. To her, being homeless meant that she couldn’t do all she wanted for her daughter. She tells us, “I don’t know how to thank Friendship Place for all they did for me.”

Today, Tionne and her family are on the road to stability and are in their own home. Tionne tells us, “My daughter was so happy to have her own place!” She says, “I’m grateful to Friendship Place for giving me a stable roof over my head.”
