Meet Bryant Helton

Bryant Helton’s is a 64 retired Veteran, who has had a long and varied life before coming to Friendship Place. Mr. Helton spent nine years in the Air Force, proudly serving his country. After leaving the military, he spent a quarter of a century in high-tech medical device sales, and even five years as a sommelier!

Life doesn’t always have easy paths, however, and Mr. Helton’s is no exception. He suffers from PTSD as a result of his service. Due to difficult family circumstances, he felt as if his safety was at risk. He needed to leave his home situation.

Mr. Helton spent over two months homeless, before Friendship Place’s Veterans First program stepped in.

Veterans First has provided Mr. Helton with extensive case management services, has helped him move into temporary stable housing, and helped him get situated. Veterans First even connected him with a local clinic for TB tests and a COVID vaccine. He wishes to “tell each of you how grateful I am for Friendship Place. It has been amazing, and I love you for it!”
